Romeo Ferraris announcement completes strong FIA ETCR field for 2022

The confirmation from Romeo Ferraris of its full driver line-up for the 2022 FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup with today’s announcement of Giovanni Venturini completing their four-strong squad which will go up against the already-announced line-ups from CUPRA EKS and Hyundai Motorsport means all drivers for the 2022 season are now announced.

Venturini will race alongside team-mates Maxime Martin, Luca Filippi and Bruno Spengler in the Giulia ETCR for the Opera-based manufacturer across the seven rounds of FIA ETCR, starting next week in Pau, France.

The Giulia ETCR has been developed since its debut last year in the then-named Pure ETCR. The car utilises hemp-based material in is construction with the use of this sustainable product increased in the car for 2022.

“Romeo Ferraris is the final squad to confirm its driver line-up for 2022 and it has definitely been worth the wait,” said FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup Series Director, Xavier Gavory.

“To have drivers of the calibre of Luca Filippi, Bruno Spengler, Maxime Martin and now Giovanni Venturini join our series is a testament to our development into an FIA World Cup. Whilst not a road car manufacturer, Romeo Ferraris certainly showed in 2021 that they most certainly can compete and beat their rivals from major automotive groups. We head to our first round in Pau knowing we have three quality teams with superb drivers across the board: Let the racing begin!”
