ETCR, eTouring Car World Cup

Following a series of discussions with various stakeholders, Discovery Sports Events announces it will not promote the ETCR, eTouring Car World Cup during 2023.

Over recent months, there have been extensive discussions around the next phase of the series, including its sporting and regulatory format as a priority. In particular, recognising the importance of further integrating the traditional Touring Car DNA within the series to create the best stage for electric car racing. One with a packed grid that maximizes the appeal to fans, manufacturers, and drivers.

Despite the efforts made by all parties to finalise the new sporting and regulatory framework that meets the needs of the manufacturers, the necessary conditions could not be implemented in a satisfactory manner ahead of launching a full season.

Introduced as the first multi-brand all-electric touring car series in 2021 and promoted by Discovery Sports Events over the past two seasons, it has delivered action-packed races to motorsports fans with sustainability and innovation at its core.

A seguito di una serie di discussioni con varie parti interessate, Discovery Sports Events annuncia che non promuoverà l’ETCR – eTouring Car World Cup nel 2023.

Negli ultimi mesi si è discusso a fondo sulla prossima fase della serie, includendo come priorità il suo formato sportivo e regolamentare. In particolare, si è riconosciuta l’importanza di integrare ulteriormente il DNA tradizionale delle Touring Car all’interno della serie per creare il miglior palcoscenico per le gare di auto elettriche. Un palcoscenico con una griglia di partenza ricca che massimizzi l’attrattiva per i fan, i costruttori e i piloti.

Nonostante gli sforzi compiuti da tutte le parti per finalizzare il nuovo quadro sportivo e normativo che soddisfi le esigenze dei costruttori, non è stato possibile implementare le giuste condizioni necessarie prima del lancio di un’intera stagione.

Introdotta come prima serie multimarca di auto turismo completamente elettriche nel 2021 e promossa da Discovery Sports Events nelle ultime due stagioni, ha offerto agli appassionati di automobilismo gare ricche di azione con sostenibilità e innovazione al suo centro.
